The Met Gala 2025 Issue

My Favorite Met Gala 2025 Looks

Let’s talk about my favorite fashion event of the year. The Met Gala.

“Fashion is the most powerful art there is. It’s movement, design, architecture all in one. It shows the world who we are and who we’d like to be.” – Blair Waldorf

Blair said it best. Fashion has always been more than just utilitarian for me (cough cough Supreme Court). Every first Monday in May, we can really see this come alive. The beautiful pieces that the celebrities wear to the event are nothing but art.

As the Met Gala 2025 was last night, I wanted to write my first opinion piece on all my favorite looks of the night. I thought so many of the attendees looked incredible in their outfits, but I just want to focus on my absolute favorites. I don’t know with whom to begin this issue with, so in no particular order, here are my favorite looks of the night.

Jennie

Okay, I know I just said I don’t know who to start with, but I think (know) my favorite look of the night was Jennie from Black Pink. A little fun fact about me is that I can spot a Chanel look from a mile away. When I saw Jennie arrive, I nearly fell out of my seat. The silhouette of the dress looked incredible on her. It has the classic Chanel flower and pearls in the front that made the dress look so elegant. But my favorite part of the whole outfit was the hat and boy did she have fun wearing that hat. Wow! I LOVE this look!

This could be because Chanel is one of my favorite brands. My favorite Met Gala theme so far was the theme from 2023: Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. Dua Lipa’s look that year is engraved in my brain, and I think about it often. But even if Chanel wasn’t one of my favorite brands, Jennie last night looked stunning.

Lisa and Rosé

While we’re talking about Jennie, let’s talk about Lisa and Rose who equally looked absolutely gorgeous!! All three girls went for black outfits, and I am not upset at it. Lisa looked amazing in her Louis Vuitton tights and glittery jacket.

Rosé’s look is probably my second favorite look from the Black Pink girls. She looked so classy and chic in her YSL black suit and the oversized shawl train?? So beautiful!!

Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa also wore custom Chanel for this year’s Met Gala. She STUNNED me in that beautiful, cropped jacket full of crystals and pearls. This was another all-black outfit that I absolutely loved.

Zendaya

Okay, I think I’ve held off talking about the queen for long enough. My sister and I screamed when we saw her. She was waiting on the line to go up the steps, letting Diana Ross have her moment going up the stairs (or should I say shutting down the stairs while she went up). Can we talk about a classier and more respectful woman? I love Zendaya. And I LOVED her Louis Vuitton look. I finally get to talk about an all-white outfit 🥹 (you know I love me an all-white outfit). This suit was tailored to perfection on her, and the hat was extraordinary!!

Zendaya never disappoints me with her fashion.

Anna Sawai

This look was a Dior version of Zendaya’s look. She also looked amazing in the all-white suit.

Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter took my breath away when she arrived in her burgundy outfit. WOW! That’s all I can say. I have no other words. Her legs were out (obviously) and this color on her was something special!

Sydney Sweeney

I could not stop looking at Sydney Sweeney when she was on the carpet. She looked so elegant and sparkly in her all-black sparkly dress, and it fit her so well (as it should).

Miley Cyrus

Miley looked amazing in her black outfit. I love a two-piece outfit like this so of course I would love this one. The gold necklace was a beautiful addition and elevated the outfit perfectly.

Coco Jones

Coco Jones looked regal in her outfit. It is ridiculously beautiful! The design on her suit was phenomenal and her pants were shiny! Plus, her hair also looked amazing!

Monica Barbaro

Dior is another one of my favorite designers and I can also spot a Dior outfit from a mile away just like I spotted Monica Barbaro’s outfit. I love the silhouette that classic Dior outfits have 😍 I also loved the hat and gloves on this outfit!

Sofia Richie Grainge

THIS DRESS!!! Wow!! Sofia looked SO beautiful. This dress is another top favorite. The back of this dress with the bows is AMAZING and it fit her so well!

Jasmine Tookes

This is another all-white suit with a hat, but I also loved this one. This look also has a cape and I love a good cape look!

Rosalia

Rosalia’s look was a little simple compared to some others, but I LOVED it. Look at the way the dress fits her on top. I love it so much!!

Laura Harrier

I need Laura’s outfit in my closet. It reminds me of a white version of Princess Jasmin’s outfit, and I love it. She looked so beautiful.

Mindy Kaling

This look reminds me of the American Revolution (in the best way), but I like it. I can’t explain why, sorry.

Whitney Peak

I am ending this part of the issue with a bang. Whitney Peak in her Chanel look had my jaw on the floor. It’s black and hot pink, which is not my usual style, but I LOVE to see it on other people and it belongs on Whitney Peak. She looked stunning! This look also had a hat and I think maybe I should buy more hats because I realized I love them so much yesterday!

Men

I wanted to mention some of the men that stunned me as well.

S.Coups

My leading man of the night was S.Coups from Seventeen. He was dressed in Boss and he looked absolutely perfect. This was his first Met Gala and he nailed it. I am so proud of him and I am so happy that I get to be a fan of such a wonderful, handsome man.

Alton Mason

This look was so shiny and ridiculously amazing. I also could not stop staring at him when he was on the screen.

Evan Ross

I had to mention Evan Ross because I got a new crush last night. I loved his outfit. It was perfectly elegant and just shiny enough.

Jeremy O. Harris

Last but certainly not least, Jeremy O. Harris’s outfit was just as extravagant as he is. And, of course, his ring made just for him was very impressive.

These were my favorite looks from last night. Do you have the same favorites as me? Did I leave any out that you loved? I love fashion because we all have our different styles and ways to express ourselves and that’s what makes us all unique individuals.

Ethereally,
